VISIT THE GRANDE ECURIE, THE ROYAL STABLES AT THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES WHERE THE HORSES OF LOUIS XIV WERE HOUSED, AND FIND OUT WHAT GOES ON AT THE ACADEMY OF EQUESTRIAN ARTS.
Your guide will show you around the stables that were home to the horses, grooms, squires and musicians of the “Sun King” in the 17th century.
Then you’ll visit the 40 horses at the Academy of Equestrian Arts, the school directed by Bartabas (the renowned horse dresser and equestrian theatre specialist), and discover the unique manège set up like a theatre.
Finally, your guide will take you inside the prestigious riding school. This site associates the art of dressage with other performing arts including dance, singing, fencing and Kyudu (Japanese archery).
With a bit of luck, you might even get the chance to attend a live training session during your visit.
